i really love the way these shoes turned out!! i have never embroidered anything before and i thought it would look really cute, so i thought what the heck! i will just try it and see how they look...well they look awesome!! these are my sisters shoes that she wanted me to do for her. we got them a Walmart and dyed them yellow. when they were done drying i went to work stitching! i started my design at the heel...big mistake! the heel has extra padding which i didn't really think of, but it was tough getting that big fat needle through it! i really had to use my muscles on this one! haha. it took a little longer than i thought and a lot more muscle than most craft projects do, but it was totally worth it!! I'm glad Keslie is really happy with them.
all i did to embroider them was first i looked up Keds on the internet and i found a design that i liked, then i sketched a design onto the side of the shoe with pencil and i stitched over it. it was really simple but oh does it look so good! thanks for stopping by!

These are so cute! You did such a good job, and the design showed up really well. I have to ask, what kind of dye did you use on these shoes? It turned out great!

What a great idea! I love the black on yellow.
ReplyDeleteSUCH a cute idea. I've never embroidered anything before either but I have a plain black pair of canvas shoes that would be perfect for something like this...
