undershirt: Forever 21
jeans: JC Penny's
sandals: Wakmart
I'm alive everyone!!  i think i have earned the worst blogger award....i haven't posted in a week!  tsk tsk.  im so busy now that school has started!  but my goal is to post at least three times throughout the week...lets see how it goes!  so anyways i had a pretty good weekend.  on thursday loys had his work  party which was fun, we went swimming and he won a new flip video camera!  he was really excited haha.  then on Friday i went to a football game with my new friend jade.  we lost.  really badly.  it was still fun though!  then yesterday i made this shirt then went out shooting( thats why i have ear plugs in these pictures) with loys and his cousin c ray ( Christopher).  i did pretty well, guys!  haha anyways that was my weekend, how was yours?  did you guys do anything fun?

oh and this is what the shirt looked like before...so yeah.  oh my gosh!  its a long weekend!  im so excited!!

pink

top (refashioned): thrifted
skirt (refashioned): thrifted
belt: Forever 21
earrings: Forever 21
ring Forever 21

i wore this on my second day of school.  i wore my super cute high heels with it too...big mistake!  at the end of school i felt like my feet were broken and now i have two big blisters.  but hoe can i not wear them??  theyre so cute and they go with everything!  i guess my feet will just have to toughen up!  beauty is pain, right?

anyways...i really like this top!  im in love with flowy tops right now!  they go so well with everything!  im really happy that i decided to do the little flowers along the neckline, it was a last minute decision.  don't you just love those?  the details you weren't planning on adding, but at the last minute you think of it and it makes all the difference!

yougurt land

dress: thrifted (refashioned)
heels: Shoe carnival
belt: thrifted

i love this!!  i wanted something with ruffles...i really like ruffles, okay?  haha probably half of my projects have ruffles.  so anyways...i decided to do a ruffle that started at the neckline and went down the middle of the dress.  i love it!  i think it looks really great with he belt! i also added sleeves!!  im getting pretty good at it too!  oh and would you guys like a tutorial on how to add sleeves?   and if you guys have any tutorial requests i would LOVE for you to share them!!

so this was actually what i wore yesterday...shame on me! haha.  after loys got home from work we went to yogurt land...on a DATE!!  its been a long time since Ive heard that word! haha anyways.  um why have i not been there before??  its like the best place in this world!!  not even kidding!  so pretty much its self serve and first you choose which icecream flavor you want and then you pile on the toppings and you weigh it!  its as simple as that!

i got a pineapple and dragon fruit mix for the ice cream and then piled fruit on it!  it was oh so good!  oh and see that little pink ball? yes, no?  anyways its sooo good its like a strawberry flavored ball of juice that bursts in your mouth!  i think that's the best way i can describe it haha.

so last night i kept on having nightmares about going back to school.  i was stressing out that i had a paper dew the next day and that i woke up late and had no way to get to school.  i did not like it...not one bit!

p.s. ill try not to take so many pictures next time...sorry!  oh and tomorrow i will be doing something a little different...i will give you a hint its not ME that will be posting...and its not another blogger

lovin that mu mu

dress: thrifted (refashioned)
cardigan: Plato's Closet
belt: thrifted
heels: Shoe Carnival
earrings: Forever 21

i really wanted to refashion a mu mu...haha don't ask why cause i don't even know but i just did, so i picked this one up at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago.  don't you just love that floral pattern??  i really just wanted a plain dress that could be cute for layering, so i didn't do much to it.  all i did was take it in...a bunch, this thing was huge people!  then i cut it shorter...too short in fact, i had to sew a strip back onto the bottom haha oops!  then i made a new neck line oh and cut off the snapies.  i really wanted something with a boat neck, so thats what i did.  i really with that these pictures weren't so bright so that you guys could see the pattern better...oh well.  oh. my. gosh.  school starts in two weeks??  this just dawned on me like two days ago!  this is my last week of freedom so i better fill it up with some partying and fun!  im kinda excited though cause im a looser and i dont have anything to do with myself...i get SO bored during the summer!  but i have had lots of fun trips to the walmart!  do you guys wanna hear a funny storry?  i think you do!  okay so the other day we were at walmart returning loys's bike cause my mom kinda ran it over with the truck...anyways there was this guy there that left a bag of groceries at the checkout and he wanted them back
man: i left a grocery bag here the other day
lady: ough stupid cashiers!
man: well actually it was a self checkout
hahaha.  i thought it was funny!  see people, this is why you go to walmart because you come back with funny stories to post on your blog! oh and this week i also joined stumble upon.  its pretty freaking awesome!  nuf said.

so my big sister moved last week.  she took all my outfit pictures!  and shes so good at it!  so without her i had to go to the third best option...loys was at work.  yeah my little sister savanna took these pictures and they turned out pretty good!  i had to coach her through it a little bit though.  no, wait...you have to hold it down half way to focus it and THEN take the picture...ok now come closer.  it sure was an adventure!  i love my little sister shes the best!  thank you savanna for taking these pictures!

p.s. this outfit was super cheap!  well everything except for the shoes.
dress: $3
cardigan: $5
belt: $3
earrings: $ .25
shoes: $30

ruffled

shirt: thrifted (restyled)
pants: hand me down
tank: Downeast
ring: Forever 21
shoes: Shoe Carnival
earrings: Forever 21

i don't think this top could get any more cropped, what do you think?  i picked this top up at the thrift store for $3.00! ooh yeah!  i thought it was cute to start out with, but it wasn't really me so i chopped off the sleeves, cropped it and put some ruffles on it.  now it has Madison written all over it!  i though of a ruffled cropped button up while i was trying to sleep the other night.  this is when i usually think of these kinds of things.  its kind of annoying actually because when i go to sleep all i do is think.  i think of what im going to be doing the next day, i think of what im going to wear and what im going to make.  it takes me forever to fall asleep!  but it results in genius ideas, like this one!

p.s.  i got new shoes!  aren't they the best?

put the bell in the bottoms

cardigan: Plato's Closet
tank top: Downeast
scarf: i made it
belt: thrifted
pants: thrifted
sandals: Walmart

i cannot tell you how long i have been wanting a pair of bell bottoms!  aren't they the cutest??  all i did was take in the waist to the knees.  i have got to say that i was uber proud of this refashion.  i successfully took in the waist...and the crotch...and the hips!  booyah!!  today was a good Monday.  over the weekend my sweet loys got me a new bike!  my poor Penelope is now retired and rusted to no end, so i was in need of a new beach cruiser.  its a boy bike, but i like it.  i named him Jeffery.  so since i have a new bike me and loys have been going on long bike rides up the canyon.  its been so much fun!! the other day we were riding bikes and we got caught in a huge rain storm!  the roads were flooding and the rain was pouring and it was the funnest thing ever!  riding my bike is really good exercise and its not torture...like running.  running sucks!  haha

last week was bitter sweet.  my brother in law came home from technical training for the air force on Friday.  i am so happy for my sister!  she is such a trooper!  she has been taking care of her two little ones all by herself since February.  at the same time im sad that she has to move away.  shes my best friend in the whole world and i love her so much!  it wont be too bad because they got located to hill air-force base here in Utah.  its only an hour and a half away from here, which is a lot better than them moving outside the country which was a very real possibility.

the dreaded house coat series: chapter 2

shirt: JC Penny's
skirt: thrifted (restyled)
belt: thrifted
shoes: Burlington Coat Factory
earring: Forever 21

i am in love with this skirt!!  its so retro! haha...retro ha ha.  so i actually refashioned this twice.  at first i made it into an A line skirt and it was really poofy and i didnt really like it at all,  so i made it into a pencil skirt!  and i love it!  i think im really liking pencil skirts right now...i never really wore any before this year.  theyre so form fitting, i mean come on,  who doesnt want to show off their curves??  oh and i totally refashioned something awesome today (well i think its awesome)!! ive been wanting it for a while now and i finally have it!!  but i cant tell you cause its a surprise!  youll just have to check back tomorrow...possibly the next day.  it all depends on how busy i am.  im excited!! haha

p.s. i think i need new shoes...i wear these like everyday!  haha sorry you guys have to see the same shoes over and over again!

p.p.s i guess i really like this shirt because i wore it in my last outfit post...haha i guess i just need another cream colored blouse!

everything happens for a reason

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
— Marilyn Monroe
 Dress: thrifted  (restyled)
belt: thrifted
shoes: Burlington Coat Factory
earrings: Forever 21 ( 5 for $1.50!!)

sorry i haven't posted a refashion for a couple of days!  Ive been busy with guest posts and engagement pictures!  and because i didn't really want to refashion anything.  the past couple of days i was in a funk.  i felt like all of my refashions were turning out badly and not blog worthy.  i also felt that i couldn't put a single cute outfit together!  it really sucks to feel like youre not good at what you do best! haha, but im better now.  i think i was trying to do so many things that i couldnt just sit down and think about what i wanted it to be.  so i have limited myself to one refashion a day...yeah i was doing multipule refashions, like three a day.  so this dress has been refashioned twice. haha...yeah.  i HATED how it looked the first time!  at first i decided that i wanted ruffle sleeves which took me like a half an hour to sew...and i didnt even like how it turned out!  so i wore it anyway thinking oh well maybe if i wear it for a little bit i will start liking it more...yeah, it just made it worse! haha but i love it now!!  i love the ruffles!  dont you think it would look cute with mustard yellow tights and some cowboy boots??  ooohh yeah!

p.s. i also came to the conclusion that i need new shoes!  i wear these with everything!! haha
