vintage florals are to die for

skirt (refashioned):thrifted

i went thrifting!!  i got so much clothes!!  i joined super saver club!! oooohh yeah!  yes, be jealous. haha.  when i saw this lovely vintage floral dress hanging on the rack i ran to it...literally.  vintage florals are to die for!  they might not have known how to make the cutest clothes but man did they know how to make their prints!  oh and did i mention that this dress was only $6??  that's right!  so this was pretty much the easiest skirt i have ever made in my life...all i did was chop off the top, sew a casing and thread the elastic through.  yep that easy!  i had some extra fabric so i also made this scarf.  i love scarfs...i love them so much that i wear them in the summer! so what?

    Lovely thrifted dress, super cute pattern, love that you have turned it into a skirt. I did this recently with a dress that didn't fit, I just cut the top off and put a zipper in, complete transformation :)

    I like how you just casually use sewing terms that I don't even know. You know whatever, I just sewed a casting... You could have said, I just sewed a gobhidge and I would have believed you. Because you obviously have skills that I don't. Nice work! :)

    Good job. I'm not an excellent sewer, but I know my way around a casing. Brings thrifting into a whole new dimension!
    I too am partial to vintage prints. You look so cute and the photo setting is perfect.

    I always buy lots of clothes when thrifting...I think it's because most things at my thrift stores are roughly a dollar or two, which makes them much more enticing and worth it if I only wear them once.
