restyled jellies

  restyled shirt: Ross
leggings: Target
jean jacket: Target
restyled jellies: Target
ring: Rue 21

arent these so cute??  i seriously cannot believe that i thought of this! haha.  i was just looking through my closet while cleaning my room and i saw them and thought...hey i should weave fabric into them! haha.  they look really cute with this outfit too.  i was so tempted to make ANOTHER circle scarf for this outfit...i have a problem...im obsessed with my circle scarves!  haha.  pretty soon i will have one in every color!  but its okay because i stopped myself!  it was going to be hot pink to match the shoes but then i thought to myself...i hate hot pink and it really doesn't look good with this outfit.  haha...anyways don't you just love my my middle part??  i was soooo brave today! haha.  i think it looks pretty cute though....anyways here is how i redid my shoes!

1. find some old jellies.  i found mine at Target.

2. you will need scissors, fabric, jellies (or shoes that have holes so you can weave fabric through them) , and  a hot glue gun

3. first cut out strips of fabric

4.  start weaving your fabric!  i started at the top.  whenever you start a new strip of fabric just put some hot glue onto it and press it down firmly before you start to weave.

restyle your shoes with markers!

these are my favorite!!  i LOVE the colors!!  haha these are my favorite colors to pair together...they just look so good i cant resist!  haha.  these took a little longer than i thought they would, but it definitely paid off!  when i first got them they were just plain old white...BORING!!  i had to change them, so i decided to color them with permanent markers.  i think they're perfect for summer!  thanks for stopping by!  have a happy Thursday!

embroidered shoes!

i really love the way these shoes turned out!!  i have never embroidered anything before and i thought it would look really cute, so i thought what the heck!  i will just try it and see how they look...well they look awesome!!  these are my sisters shoes that she wanted me to do for her.  we got them a Walmart and dyed them yellow.  when they were done drying i went to work stitching!  i started my design at the heel...big mistake!  the heel has extra padding which i didn't really think of, but it was tough getting that big fat needle through it!  i really had to use my muscles on this one! haha.  it took a little longer than i thought and a lot more muscle than most craft projects do, but it was totally worth it!! I'm glad Keslie is really happy with them.

all i did to embroider them was first i looked up Keds on the internet and i found a design that i liked, then i sketched a design onto the side of the shoe with pencil and i stitched over it.  it was really simple but oh does it look so good!  thanks for stopping by!

summer sandal refashion-tribal chic

these are my new summer sandals!!!  i am so excited about them!  i got them at walmart last season for $3...i bought every color they had! haha.  i eventually got bored of how plain they were so i decided to dress them up a bit.  they were really easy to make and everything i needed to make them i already had in my craft stash!  i LOVE free crafts! i also am really loving picnik right now.  just in case you arent familiar with it, its a free site where you can touch up photos and make collages!  i made the picture up above which by the way took me like 3 minutes and i also made my new header!

  1. first i found an old sandal that needs some lovin!  i chose my yellow ones
  2. then i spray painted them all white.  i stuffed some paper where i didnt want white...i didnt do a good enough job though cause you can still see white.  haha oh well you cant see it when im wearing them!  then i cut off excess straps that i didnt want.
  3. i cut strips large enough to cover the small straps and i hot glued them on.
  4. then i cut out eight circles of the green fabric and i cut slits into them.  after i cut them i burned the edges with a lighter...the slits helped it to look more like a flower and less like a plain circle.  i hot glued the flowers onto the middle of the sandal and put pearls in the middle of the flowers (also with hot glue).
  5. lastly i cut and glued tan circles and put a single pearl in the middle, i also hot glues the feathers on and threaded the ribbon for the ankle ties.
that is all you do!  it is sooo easy and i think they look store bought!  thanks for stopping by!

painted shoes for spring tutorial

these are my shoes that i never wore so i decided to paint them!
they took about 45 minutes because i painted so many flowers

i used acrylic paint.  i put the paint on freezer paper

i started out not knowing what i wanted to paint but i think it turned out good

i used an acrylic gloss coating to make it shiny and to make it waterproof

$5 shoes redo tutorial

I've had these shoes for a while and i never knew what to do with them.
i pretty much only bought them because they were $5.
so one day i thought about adding fabric to them.
i think they turned out really well!
the flowers were a last minute thought and i think they look really cute.
I'm excited to wear them!
the very first thing i did was make make a template of the section that i wanted.
i traced it onto paper and cut it out.

after i had my templates i pinned them onto fabric and cut them out. then i hot glued the fabric onto my shoe

to make the flowers i cut out circles...

then i gathered the fabric so that the right side was facing inward.
and the center of the circle was coming to a point.
then i hot glued the point and pressed it onto the shoe.
then i hot glued plastic pearls to the center of each flower
